Bad things can bring new Perspective

I am doing a study of Revelations and today it was Revelations 4. #MargaretFeinberg The main theme of the study was that God's perspective is much bigger and better than our own and sometimes we need to "Come up here..." Rev4:1 onto his throne and let Him show you His perspective. #Revelations4v1 #Revelationextravaganthope #faithgateway #OBS
Jem, my 9 month puppy, was injured by being knocked down by a car last week. She was on her training collar, as we are trying to train her to "heel". In the few weeks prior I had taken her to the park to run wild but she had taken to been very aggressive with smaller, older dogs and I could no longer risk that happening again. So she wasn't allowed to go to the park until she improved her behaviour through training. The walker was going past one of our local parks and she decided that is where she wanted to be and pulled and pulled until she came loose of the collar and tried to dash across the road. She was very fortunate to live first, break no bones and only have skin damage on her back leg. #dogknockedbycar
Even though she came out well the other side of the story, it was a week of trauma to firstly hear that your dog has been hurt, then waiting to hear of the damage and going through the decision of paying the bills for the expensive hospital stay. I needed to process the emotion in some way. I had started a fabric roll journal a few weeks ago where I try to make one panel a week to express the week in a picture. And this is how it looked so far:
This is when I decided to try and do a panel of the accident. This of course is not a easy image to create because of the trauma of it. I decided that I needed it still to be positive.
The image at the top of the page is the result. It is showing how Jem is pulling on the lead and the bright colourful fabric shows her excitement and joy at getting her way to be able to run towards her destination. The other side is plain deep red with a symbol of the car in black below, the red representing the blood. This really helped me process my feelings and actually cleared my head. #sewingtherapy
So the Perspective from the other side came from speaking to a friend about the process of working through the event. Firstly sewing the panel and then telling someone the meaning of the artwork for me. So she has encouraged me to use this blog as the 2nd medium of expression and allow me to let others relate to the art that I do.
I want my art and my work to express something of my working to grow as a person, to change negative behaviours and become more Christ-like in the process. Then maybe I can help someone too as I have been on that journey before. #artpractice
I want to commit myself to write a blog regularly, at least once a month to share my Christian walk, my art process and practice, and to help others to feel "Oh! I'm not the only one!" (thank you Jose for the expression). #Christianartblog
And so as Jem heals, so do I..
